State Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-33) spoke in favor of his legislation that would enable members of strategic allies, like the Republic of Lithuania, to receive the Pennsylvania Distinguished Service Medal and the Pennsylvania Meritorious Service Medal. These medals currently can only be awarded to members of the Pennsylvania National Guard or the United States armed forces. The inspiration for this bill came from a local tow truck operator who discovered that operators in several other states had the option for blue lights and the rate of roadside accidents was lower in those states. [Read More]
