I was proud to lead the charge on Senate Resolution 116, urging Congress to pass the Major Richard Star Act (H.R. 2102)—and it passed unanimously in the Senate.

Our medically retired veterans shouldn’t have to choose between retirement pay and disability benefits. They’ve earned both.
Let’s honor Major Star’s legacy and do right by those who’ve sacrificed for our nation.

I've seen that many of you are wondering why it will take until 2029 to pass Senate Bill 929, a constitutional amendment to eliminate school property taxes in Pennsylvania.

Let’s explore this together — understanding the timeline is key to mobilizing our efforts for change. ⏳

📜 How a Constitutional Amendment Happens in PA 🇺🇸

1️⃣ Proposed in the House or Senate
2️⃣ Passed by both chambers TWICE (in two back-to-back sessions)
3️⃣ Published in newspapers across PA
4️⃣ Voted on by YOU — the people — in the next election
5️⃣ If a majority says ✅ YES — it becomes law!

🗳️ No governor’s signature. No veto. Just the people and their voice.

✅ Power to the voters. Let’s keep pushing forward.

BREAKING: Senators Chris Gebhard (R‑48) and Doug Mastriano (R‑33) have introduced Senate Bill 929, a constitutional amendment to eliminate school property taxes in Pennsylvania.

Starting July 1, 2029, school districts would no longer collect property taxes — giving voters the final say and protecting homeowners from losing their homes due to rising tax bills.

“No one should lose their home because of taxes.”

I am proud to announce that my legislation, SB89, has been signed into law as Act 18. This important law will ensure that all known or suspected drug overdoses treated by EMS providers are accurately tracked in the statewide overdose mapping system. By implementing this measure, we are taking a crucial step toward enhancing our response to the overdose crisis and saving lives.
Act 18 will:
✔️ Improve real-time overdose tracking
✔️ Help get naloxone and emergency resources where they’re needed most
✔️ Strengthen coordination between EMS, police & public health officials
✔️ Support smarter recovery efforts with better data
